Life insurance - What if the worst should happen
Difficulties can be experienced while trying to arrange life protection policies when you are living with polio or any medical condition. The underwriting stance for your individual circumstances can vary vastly from one insurer to another. Unique have a vast knowledge of the underwriting approach of various insurance companies towards polio. We use our knowledge and experience in the market to help you obtain the cover you require and to do so at the most competitive premium.
Unique are able to offer the following life products:
-
Term Life – the plan is designed to pay a lump sum should you die within the term of the policy.
-
Term Critical Illness – the plan will make a single lump sum payment on the diagnosis of certain specified illnesses during the term of the plan.
-
Permanent Health Insurance – the plan is designed to pay you a regular income after a waiting period should you be unable to work through illness or disability. The income will be paid until either you return to work, your death or the expiry of the policy.
Whilst we cannot guarantee cover for everyone, we promise you a sympathetic approach as we have an understanding of polio and work with insurers to help you get the protection you need. Our panel of insurers has been selected based on their realistic underwriting approach to polio. We endeavour to obtain the best deal for you by discussing your individual circumstances with various underwriters before selecting the most appropriate company to offer you cover.
In order to proceed with our quotation, you will be required to complete an application form. This can be completed over the telephone or posted to you. Once received, the insurer will usually request a GP report from your doctor (please note the insurer will pay for the cost of the report). Once the insurer has all the required information they will then offer final acceptance terms. It is only at this stage that any premium can be guaranteed.
You are under no obligation at any stage of this process and there is no cost involved to yourself for using Unique. Unique are paid commission by the insurer if you purchase the policy, the British Polio Fellowship then receive a donation, at no additional cost to you.
