Patron Robin Askwith donates show proceeds to charity

Robin Askwith, actor, singer, writer and Patron of The British Polio Fellowship has recently appeared in a show 'Askwith Flairs Up' in Braunton, North Devon.

On his request, the proceeds of the show were split between two charities; Braunton Community Men’s Shed and The British Polio Fellowship.

"We are very grateful to Robin for the donation and for supporting the work we do at the Fellowship", commented Kripen Dhrona, CEO.

Robin is a polio survivor, after contracting the virus at a local swimming pool in Southport. He spent nine months in an isolation ward at Southport Infirmary learning to walk again, but soon made a good recovery. He was a very sporty child and enjoyed football, rugby, cricket, and swimming.

At a young age, Robin appeared in catalogues and TV commercials including Fairy Liquid. His acting career quickly took off and over the years Robin has appeared in numerous films, television and stage productions, such as Inside Number 9, Confessions of a Window Cleaner, Casualty and the TV series The Madame Blanc Mysteries.

"Thank you Robin" added Dhrona.

Robin's last show (possibly) will be at the Phoenix Arts Club, London on Monday 2nd December 2024. The show is already sold out.
