Having collated the nominations for the Barbara Wood Citizens Award award (categories - polio and non-polio) the winners were announced during this years’ British Polio Fellowship’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Thursday 18 September.
To quality all nominations needed to have gone the extra mile for the British Polio Fellowship (BPF). Candidates are judged by a panel to ensure a robust award process.
“These awards remind us of the enormous contribution volunteers make and the positive impact they have on the lives of polio survivors”, commented Kripen Dhrona, CEO.
Linda Evers passed away last month but has been awarded a posthumous polio award having provided considerable expertise in supporting her local branch in Leeds and the Yorkshire region over the years, and most recently acting as a Trustee on the BPF Board.
Les Attwood and Susan Kay-Attwood picked up the non-polio member Barbara Wood Citizens award for their support and hard work each year to ensure the Kurling event at the National Indoor Games goes well, and for their contributions to the successes of both the Sheffield Branch and Yorkshire region.
The Fellowship congratulate the winners and all nominees for their hard work, commitment and generosity in supporting the polio community.
