Lowestoft Town Football Club, affectionately known as The Trawlerboys, has launched a new partnership with the British Polio Fellowship (BPF) to raise awareness and funds for those living with the long-term effects of polio.

Spearheaded by club chair Colin Easton, the initiative will run throughout the 2025–26 season, which kicked off in August. As part of the campaign, the BPF logo will appear on the shorts of the first-team kit, and the club will host matchday collections, include a BPF advert in every home match programme, and dedicate at least one fixture as a BPF awareness day.

In a further show of support, the club has also added the BPF logo to the sleeve of their replica shirts, pledging to donate 2p from every sale directly to the charity.

To strengthen ties further, Lowestoft Town FC will offer free entry to the dedicated awareness match for local polio survivors. Representatives from BPF have been invited to attend and speak at the game, helping to highlight the continuing challenges faced by people living with post-polio syndrome (PPS).

“This is a fantastic opportunity for the Fellowship - to raise funds that will help us to support polio survivors emotionally and financially, and at the same time increase awareness of an often-overlooked condition,” said Kripen Dhrona, Chief Executive of the BPF. “We’re very proud to partner with Lowestoft Town FC and we’re grateful to them for giving a platform to polio survivors and their stories.”

Lowestoft Town FC currently competes in the Isthmian League North Division, having earned promotion as champions in the 2023–24 season.
