Mayor of Hertsmere visits Fellowship offices

The Mayor of Hertsmere, Councillor John Graham with his wife Mayoress Barbara Graham joined staff of The British Polio Fellowship at their Watford offices on 15 December, for a special event to mark the end of the year and draw tickets for the Grand Winter Raffle.

Around 40 polio survivors and members of the Fellowship participated online and watched as the mayor drew tickets and announce the winners of this years' raffle prizes.

Kripen Dhrona, Chief Executive Officer speaking about the event said: “We are so grateful to the Mayor and Mayoress for coming along on Thursday and agreeing to be involved with our raffle.

“We had some great prizes including an iPad, signed Arsenal football, a voucher from Bill’s restaurant, a hamper from Morrisons and a range of toys from Tomy.

“All the proceeds from the sale of the raffle tickets will go to the work of the Fellowship. We offer medical advice, grants, support and fellowship to polio survivors, their friends, families and carers across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.”

During the Christmas event, the mayor spoke of his plans to visit key workers on Christmas Day and his willingness to get involved in other events hosted by the Fellowship.
