West Herts College students produced a sumptuous meal for a charity event in aid of the British Polio Fellowship.
Final year students studying for a BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Hospitality and Event Management at West Herts College in Watford, Hertfordshire planned and managed an evening event for diners on 1 November.
The menu involved four courses and cost £30 a head. The menu included
Starter: Pumpkin soup
First course: Shrimp ravioli or Vegan Zucchini Tart
Main course: Turkey Wellington or Vegan Nut Roast
Dessert: Cheesecake
The chef also accommodated special dietary requirements by adapting dishes to provide gluten free and dairy free options.
The evening concluded with a raffle and numerous prizes, from a voucher for four for the College's restaurant to lovely scented candles.
All proceeds from the raffle and a portion of the cost of the meal were donated to the British Polio Fellowship (BPF). The total raised by the end of the evening was £385.
“We're so grateful to West Herts College for raising funds for the Fellowship by hosting this event. The food was incredible and it was a lovely evening. Congratulations to this years' students, they did an excellent job” commented a very full, but satisfied BPF diner.
